Roy Gabriel, Vice President - Sinking Operations
Roy Gabriel has thirty-seven years as a technical
explosives specialist with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and
the Canadian Military. He has experience in all applications, methods
and techniques utilized in the explosives field: as an explosives
field investigator, as a trainer with strong interpersonal and communication
skills, as a national lecturer and public speaker, as a pioneer
in leading edge technologies in the explosives field and as a special
effects pyrotechnician.
Roy developed the accepted explosive scuttling procedure to place
(sink) ships used to create artificial reefs world wide. His expertise
has resulted in successful ship placements in Canada, Australia
and New Zealand. Roy has been the explosives technologist responsible
for the scuttling of more than ten large artificial reef projects
since 1992.
Roys expertise is in demand as a Special Effects Assistant
to the motion picture industry. Roy has served as a Special Constable
and Explosive Technologist with the Explosive Disposal Unit of the
Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Vancouver. Roy has advised government
agencies on the illegal importation, possession and storage of explosives.
He has instructed explosive entry tactics to Emergency Response
Teams.
