Wes Roots is a British Columbia Trade Qualified Shipwright, a businessman and a marine contractor. An expert in ship dynamics and salvage, he has overseen ship preparations for every artificial reef project on the West Coast of North America since 1994.

Wes brings to Canadian Artificial Reef Consulting an innovative spirit that drives our projects forward. The consequential development of economical and environmentally friendly techniques is his pride and joy.

Wes has pioneered low energy use hydro-carbon cleaning, cost effective cleaning materials, an extensive network of secondary users for shipboard equipment, an extensive network of buyers and recycling companies for most surplus materials onboard and efficient shipboard management.

Wes mandates proper sink site techniques and preparation including proper ballasting and vessel trimming, proper horizontal and vertical ventilation, anchoring techniques in different locations and well designed hull cutting.
